What Ask My Astro can do

Updated

Ask My Astro is a Vedic astrologer you can ask anything. It builds your chart from your birth details, then answers your questions from that chart in plain language. This page lists everything it can do, and where each thing lives: on a screen you can open, or in chat, where you just ask.

Your birth chart

Your kundali, drawn in the North Indian style, with all sixteen divisional charts from D1 to D60, including Navamsa for marriage and Dasamsa for career. With an exact birth time, open the chart panel to switch between them. It also shows your current mahadasha, up to five of your yogas and any doshas present.

In chat you can go deeper: the strength and dignity of each planet, which planets aspect which houses, and your ashtakavarga scores.

Doshas

Your chart is checked for eight doshas: Manglik (Mars in any of six houses: the five most schools count, plus the 2nd that some add), Kaal Sarp, Pitru, Guru Chandala, Ganda Moola, Kalathra, Shrapit and Shakata.

With an exact birth time, any that are present appear on the chart panel. Ask in chat what one means for you, and you get the plain-language effect and one practical thing to do.

Yogas

Your chart is checked for the classical yogas, including Gaja Kesari, Raja yoga, the five Pancha Mahapurusha yogas, Budha-Aditya, Lakshmi, Dhana, Viparita Raja and Neecha Bhanga, along with the Moon yogas and the Nabhasa patterns.

Up to five appear on the chart panel. Ask in chat how they show up in your life.

Timing: dashas, the year ahead and today

Vimshottari dasha: your current mahadasha is on the chart panel. Ask in chat for the dates of any mahadasha, antardasha or pratyantardasha.

Varshaphal: your annual chart for any year. Ask in chat.

Today: ask what today's planets mean for your chart, with the day's panchang. Tap "Today's transit read" to start.

Kundali matching

Add a partner's birth details and the Match tab gives you the 36-point Guna Milan score, koota by koota, with the strongest currents between the two charts.

The Planets view shows how each person's planets fall in the other's houses, and what each chart says about marriage. The Numerology view compares your numbers, with a combined Lo Shu grid for the two of you.

In chat you can also ask how your dasha periods line up.

Numerology

The Numbers tab works out your life path, destiny, soul urge, personality and personal year numbers, in both the Chaldean and Pythagorean systems, with your mulank, bhagyank and compound name number.

It also draws your Lo Shu grid, with your Kua number once your profile's gender is set to male or female.

Chat that reads your chart

Ask anything: career, marriage, money, health, timing. Answers come from your computed chart, not from a sun-sign column.

You can also ask about someone else's chart, a famous person's, or any date and place, and save profiles for family and friends to come back to.
